ASHYA'A THINGS // AMIRA & LEILA

Ashya'a was created during the summer of 2014 in Ramallah by Amira Asad and Leila Peinado. A lot of their work is influenced by their heritage and the places they've lived in. Amira is a writer and photographer, and Leila is a freelance graphic designer and artist. 

Ashya'a was initially founded as a space and release for their random digital musing and experimental art. They're transitioning into opening the platform to other creatives that focus on or are based in MENA. 

They've recently featured a series of embroideries based on disturbing photographs from Syria by Ramallah-based artist Majd Abdel Hamid in their first segment of "storytelling with..." series. You can read it here
