Foozool and 8ulentina collaborated on a brilliant audio/visual mixtape called 'Border_convos'. Lara Sarkissian is a filmmaker and a DJ in the Bay Area. A lot of Lara's (Foozool) work involves mixing music from her ancestral and familial background, Armenia and Iran, along with Western music. Her mixing style reflects the way she experiences/perceives the clash of her Armenian diaspora experience in America via her familial home of Iran. Esra Canoğulları (8ulentina) is a DJ and artist based in Oakland, California. Canoğulları's work focuses on creating diasporic fantasy space through sculpture, video, sound and garments.
Both Foozool & 8ulenteina used to run/play a monthly event called 'Night Forms' in Oakland, CA. They recently started 'Club Chai' in Oakland which will kick off with its first event in January with DJ Haram.
